Vera Wang designed the tightly-wrapped, one-shoulder, fishtail dress. Its color was variously described as purple, eggplant, aubergine, and bordeaux. The inspiration behind the dress was the once-scandalous John Singer Sargent’s painting Madame X (Madame Pierre Gautreau).
Knightley carried a silver leather clutch by Roger Vivier and wore a 17.28 carat emerald ring with five carats worth of diamonds by Bulgari. The diamond, sapphire, emerald, and ruby necklace was created by Bulgari in the 1960s for the Shah of Iran. It’s estimated value? “Priceless.”
